Junior School

Introduction

For each boy who comes to the Junior School we aim to foster a love of learning that will last through senior school, higher education and into adult life.  The Junior School is small and friendly, with a maximum class size of 22 in each year group.  Boys are happy, comfortable and confident in their learning environment, and enjoy a wide range of activities and opportunities, both academic and in the wider curriculum.  Pupils regularly enjoy art, music, sport, drama, and design & technology – utilising the close relationship with the Senior School and making the most of the excellent facilities that this offers.

The emphasis in the Junior School is placed firmly on getting it right for the individual.   All children are valued and encouraged, and talents are sought out and celebrated.  As well as building a secure foundation in numeracy and literacy, our teaching encourages imaginative thinkers who are eager for new challenges.

The Junior School also, of course, has the added advantage of providing a smooth transition for boys moving into the Senior School at Year 7.
