Derby Grammar School Year 11 pupils are celebrating this morning with some of the best results in the school’s recent history.

97% of pupils have achieved five A* to C passes, or the numerical equivalent. 80% of all passes in Biology, Chemistry and Physics are at A* and A grades, and 67% of all passes in English Language and Literature are at grades 9 and 8.

Carol Bramall, Head of English, commented: “these results are testament to the hard work the pupils have put in over the last two years. They have worked incredibly hard and I am so proud of them.”

Acting Head, Lesley Reynolds, added: “we are absolutely delighted with our pupils’ results this year. It has been a worrying time for all waiting for this day with all of the media hype around the new grades, but our boys have ably demonstrated their ability across all of their subjects. Pupils and staff have worked hard together, and that hard work is evidenced by a set of outstanding results.”
