The House Art competition is an annual event which is usually keenly contested and produces some outstanding entries. This year the brief was built around our pantomime production, Snow White.
Entrants were asked to submit a piece of artwork which could be used on either the poster or the programme to help promote the production.
It was important that the designs were original and not copied from Disney, and many pupils rose to the challenge. Some depicted the story, while others were more symbolic and used imagery to represent the overall themes of good versus evil, the poisoned apple and the magic mirror.
Ms Sellors, Head of Creative Arts, judged the competition. She said: “there were some very strong contenders this year and it was not easy to pick a winner. Thank you to everyone who entered. We have two winning entries, one from Lower School and one from Upper School. Both fit the design brief and were presented very effectively to sum up the story of Snow White.”
Congratulations to Freya of Upper School who wins for her House, Derby, and to Tim of Lower School who wins for his House, Atkinson.
