Junior School celebrated their achievements in December at assembly on Friday morning. As December was a short period for us due to breaking up for the Christmas break, we thought it would be a short assembly. But how wrong we were!
Achievement assembly always begins by recognising individual achievements that have taken place out of school. As ever, our pupils have been very busy. Ted won a mini-golf competition whilst on holiday, Benny attended the premiere of Star Wars, The Last Jedi, at the Royal Albert Hall in London, where the two stormtroopers, Princes Harry and William, were also present.
Football fanatic Sam told us of his team’s performance in a football tournament that took place for Midlands teams over the holidays, and Daniel proudly told us about kick-boxing and achieving his purple belt.
After Junior School’s amazing performance in the Primary Maths Challenge, we are delighted to congratulate Hadi and Roj who are both through to the February Bonus Round where they will be competing against pupils in Years 5 and 6 from across the UK.
And as Junior School loves maths so much, we had another Sumdog challenge over the Christmas holidays. 28 pupils took part, and our winner was Kian who is in Year 3.
Years 4 and 5 received subject achievement awards for their topic work in DT, writing news articles, and the Aztecs, as well as science and abacus.
Finally, with Bemrose winning House Rugby and Atkinson winning House Carols in December the Honour points race is getting closer.
