Friday 26 January saw parents, grandparents and locals descend on Derby Grammar School to attend the Bring and Buy Sale.

Organised by Year 6 teacher, Mrs Genders, with lots of help from her Year 6 class and from across the Junior School, it is always a busy afternoon.

This year saw donations in all shapes and sizes from our very generous pupils and parents, and a whole host of stalls run by Year 6 pupils – from Will’s car quiz and Chester’s Warhammer stall, to Adam and Will’s Ping Pong game and, of course, the customary tombola.

Mrs Genders said: “We have raised a whopping £500 which is all donated to our Tanzania 2018 project to support Gedeli B School in Mwanza, Tanzania. This year our focus is on raising £8000 so we can install a new water tower. It means the children at the school will have clean water to drink.

All of the Year 6 boys worked incredibly hard to ensure the Bring and Buy Sale was a success, but I must particularly mention Chris who ran his stall selling sweets and Quick Milk products. He has donated all his profit and a stall fee, which totals £63.90, to the Bring and Buy Sale total.”
