Junior School’s Achievement Assembly always begins with the boys telling us what they’ve been up to outside of school – and it looked like they had been very busy in October judging by the number of boys up on stage!

Our new Year 3 boys have got straight into the spirit of things with Ryan, Alex and Saadi telling us about their drama, martial arts and cricket successes. George and Sam both told us about the triumphs in tennis and Daniel showed off his Blue Peters sports badge.

We celebrated Dhruv, James and Joshua who wrote the prayers for the harvest festival; Mrs Genders was overwhelmed by the prayers each had written as part of their optional homework.

Mrs Jackson awarded lots of certificates out for the latest Sumdog Challenge, an online mathematics test which the boys took part in over the summer holidays. She was particularly impressed by Daniel (Year 4) and Tom (Year 5) who scored 96%, and Anish (Year 5) who scored 94%. Each received their certificate from Freddie Lamb, the Junior School Prefect.

Ted and James, both in Year 4, received pen licences, and this was followed by a presentation of Subject Achievement Certificates – and there were many of them! All recognised the effort the boys had put in to their work and sport.

The final part of Achievement Assembly is always an update on the Honour Point Race to see which House is in the lead. This month it’s very tight with Bemrose just slightly ahead of Derby.
