Derby Grammar School is delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs Baker as its new teacher of A Level Psychology. This marks yet another step forward in the enhancement of the school’s Sixth Form provision offer.

Mrs Baker, a graduate member of The British Psychological Society, joins us from Denstone College and begins to deliver the new A Level in September 2019.

Psychology is just one of the new A Levels available from September, alongside Business Studies, Politics, Drama, Computer Science and the EPQ. The new curriculum is generating a lot of interest, alongside the expansive Sixth Form Scholarship offer.

In January, Derby Grammar School opened a new Sixth Form Centre, providing a dedicated space for both study and relaxation for Sixth Form students in the beautiful oak-panelled surroundings of the original ballroom of Rykneld Hall.

Commenting on her new position, Mrs Baker said: “I’m very excited to be joining Derby Grammar School, especially at such a turning point under the leadership of new Head Dr Ruth Norris and new Head of Sixth Form, Miss Stebbings.

The Psychology A Level was really popular at the recent Sixth Form experience day. I’m looking forward to meeting our new students in September and sharing with them a subject I love.”
