The DGS Fireworks Spectacular goes from strength to strength with another year of record-breaking attendance reported on Tuesday 5 November.

We welcomed 2,800 visitors to the school from far and wide – it certainly appears to be the firework display people choose to attend.

The fireworks evening is organised by the PTA, a small core of parents who commit their time and energy to put on a fantastic night.

Caroline Euston, Chair of the PTA, said: “Our aim is to create fun events which engage with the community whilst also generating additional funds for the children’s enjoyment, so to see so many people on the lawn enjoying the fruits of our labour was heart-warming.

Our special thanks go to all parents, teaching staff and pupils who volunteered to help on the night and of course to those bought tickets. We hope you all had a wonderful night.”

The PTA look forward to declaring a fundraising total in due course, and are now on to planning next years’ event!

If you would like to get involved in PTA activities, either occasionally or regularly, come and find out more at the PTA AGM on Wednesday 13th November in the Sixth Form Centre. Everyone is welcome.
