Eight Year 11 pupils and twelve Year 12 pupils enjoyed completing their Duke of Edinburgh Award Silver and Gold practice expeditions during the first three days of the Half Term holiday.

COVID restrictions currently prevent camping overnight, but special concessions put in place by the Award scheme allow for expeditions to be achieved by completing a series of day walks. Silver and Gold expeditions take place in more challenging countryside, so we are fortunate that the Dark Peak in North Derbyshire is close, making three days trips possible.  We are extremely proud that the boys have continued to complete their Duke of Edinburgh awards in challenging circumstances, and look forward to watching them progress.

Further Bronze, Silver and Gold expeditions are planned for the Easter holiday and summer term 2021.
