This week we’ve had the first sign that things are getting back to normal (ish) with the first Year 12 student attending a work experience placement. Well done Will – you’ve done so well! It’s still very difficult to find physical work experience, so congratulations to you and we hope it’s going well.

I’ve also been contacted by UCAS this week to let me know about their Discovery Week which is running from 22nd to 26th of June. This sounds very exciting and includes a variety of sessions including a students’ guide to Uni vs Apprenticeships, applying to Oxford and Cambridge, and Secrets to a Powerful Personal Statement.

UCAS Discovery week ties in very nicely with what we are currently doing at school – because during morning tutor times on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday I’m meeting with Year 12 and helping them to start their UCAS journey by opening their account and taking their first steps.

There’s also a parents’ session for the Discovery Week with a Q&A which will run on Tues 22nd June between 18:40 and 19:20. Here is the link to the page; you can find further information and book to attend there, so don’t miss that.

As always, don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or enquiries.
