Our Holiday Club will be running this October half term, from 26 to 30 October inclusive, in our main Hall.
Our Protective Measures and COVID-19 Risk Assessment Policy is available here. Holiday Club will have a cap of 15 children per session and frequent hand washing and sanitation will be practised. The new Infants School building affords plenty of space for social distancing with a dedicated outdoor play area to allow children to spend as much time outdoors as possible.
Who can attend?
The Holiday Club is for children in Primary School and Year 7. We welcome siblings, boys or girls, as long as they fall in to our age range. They don’t have to be a Derby Grammar School pupil. If a child, or anyone in their household, displays any symptoms of coronavirus they must not attend Holiday Club and should follow government guidance on isolation. On their first day at Holiday Club, all parents will be asked to complete a declaration form for their child’s fitness to attend.
Holiday Club activities
Every day is different in Holiday Club. As we are based at Derby Grammar School we can access the fabulous resources, equipment and spaces available across the school, so there’s never a dull moment!
The daily programme is planned in advance and includes everything from outside activities such as football and other outdoor games to indoor activities including crafts, cookery, model making, quizzes with prizes, creative worksheets, table top activities, movie afternoons, talent shows and much more!
Activities take into account the time of year and often follow a theme, for example, making Mothers’ day cards or an Easter bonnet parade.
What does my child need to bring?
Children are required to bring their own lunch, drinks and snacks to last them throughout the day. No sharing will be allowed. Please do not send any packaging or bottles etc that would require staff assistance in opening and do not provide any food that contains nuts. Please also ensure your child brings a spare set of clothes as lots of outdoor activities will be taking place.
How to book
Please reserve your place using the online booking form by 12 noon on Wednesday 21 October. You will receive an email confirming your booking by 5pm on Friday 23 October. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accept anyone at Holiday Club who has not booked a place.
How do I pay for the Holiday Club?
We will add the cost to your termly fee invoice. Parents whose children do not attend Derby Grammar School will be invoiced via email. You can use childcare vouchers towards the cost of Holiday Club.
