Derby Grammar School is celebrating the achievements of its Sixth Form students as they receive their A Level results. This year’s cohort has shown resilience, determination and a commitment to excellence, both inside and outside the classroom. Many students have secured places at their first-choice universities, reflecting the aspiration and talent nurtured at Derby Grammar School. Our pupils have secured diverse placements, including Architecture at Nottingham Trent, Biochemical Science at Keele, Criminology at Nottingham, and Economics at Aberystwyth and Durham.
Headmaster Alistair Bond said:
“We are immensely proud of all our students and the dedication they have shown during their time at Derby Grammar School. These results reflect not only academic achievement, but also the resilience, adaptability and independence they have developed – qualities that will serve them well in the future. Our students leave us ready to thrive in the next stage of their lives, whether at university, in apprenticeships or in the world of work".
The results follow two years of hard work, during which students have also contributed to the wider life of the school through leadership roles, charity work – including spearheading fundraising for our own Tanzania Trust, spending a month on the ground with the community in Mwanza, and climbing Mount Kilimanjaro – as well as through sports, music and drama. This real-life approach to education remains a hallmark of Derby Grammar School’s ethos. As the school looks ahead to the new academic year, it remains committed to providing an environment in which every student is challenged, supported and encouraged to achieve their personal best.
