Everyday is an Open Day and there is no better way to experience everything that Derby Grammar School has to offer than to come and see for yourself. Throughout the academic year, we host a variety of different open events to welcome visitors to our stunning grounds and we are always happy to arrange an individual tour during the School day.

All our open days are informal and relaxed which allows visitors to catch a true glimpse into life at Derby Grammar School.

GCSE Open Evening - for Year 8/Year 9 parents looking ahead

Monday 19th January 2026

We are delighted to invite prospective families to our GCSE Open Evening on Monday 19th January at 6.30pm.

We are committed to fostering an environment where students not only excel academically but also develop into confident, compassionate, and resilient young adults.  Our GCSE program is designed to inspire curiosity and prepare studnets for a rapidly changing world.  During the evening, you will:

• Meet and speak with students
• Interact with our expert teaching staff
• Hear from our Headmaster about how we tailor our teaching to unlock the full potential of every student.

Family Evening in aid of Tanzania Trust

More details to follow - we will be hosting a Ceilidh evening on Saturday 24th January 2026.  Tickets will go on sale soon.

February Love & Kindness - Stay & Play for 2-4 year olds

We're delighted to offer families and their children an invite to our special Stay and Play, in our brand new pre-school class.  This is for our current families and prospective families looking for a nursery pre-school place or considering our reception class.

The event will run 9.30am - 11am on Wednesday 11th February 2026.
