A message from the Head, Mr Paul Logan

At Derby Grammar School you will find a vibrant, purposeful atmosphere that enables all members of our community to fulfill their potential. We seek to find the best blend of traditional teaching and the opportunities created by new technology.

Our ethos is Excellence, Encouragement and Enrichment. Academic excellence is at the heart of our approach.

We aim to bring education to life, and this is not confined to the classroom, Enrichment is in evidence on the sports field, stage and expedition. Encouragement is delivered by superb pastoral care with each individual valued and known for who they are, enabling pupils to have the secure foundation they need to achieve and acquire the skills needed for a post-COVID world.

Although our exam results speak for themselves, with our pupils placing at or near the top of league tables, we recognise grades are a starting point, not an end to the educational journey. We are small enough to offer each individual what they need to learn, create and discover all they are capable of. We hope you will come and visit us. You will find an exciting and stimulating atmosphere that is both caring and welcoming.

Mr Paul Logan, BSc (Hons), PGCE
