As parents ourselves, we know that choosing a school for your child is an important decision. Here at Derby Grammar School we provide an outstanding education for able pupils in the East Midlands.
But our website and prospectus can only tell you so much. We welcome and encourage you to visit us at one of our open events or come along for a private visit so that you can experience our School, meet the Head and see what it is that makes us different.
We encourage all new prospective pupils to sit an entrance assessment for Senior School, or come along for an assessment day for entry to Primary School between years 3 and 6. This is simply so that we can ensure that your child gains maximum benefit from the education offered here, and ensures that we can support and help them to work to the best of their ability.
Boys who are offered, and accept, a place in our Primary School have a guaranteed place in Senior School. There are no additional examinations or assessments required.
We keep our class sizes small so that we can get to know and support each pupil to achieve their potential, and so that they can make the most of all the opportunities at their fingertips here in School.
