The application process can be a little daunting for parents and pupils alike, but we’re here to help you every step of the way.

We recommend you initially visit our School at an open event or a personal visit where we can talk you through the details in person.

Admission is based upon the successful completion of the Entrance Examination and suitable report from your child’s current school for Senior School, or Assessment Day for Junior School.

Entrance examinations usually take place in January. To secure a place in the January exams, your application should be submitted by December of the year before you would like your child to start.

While this is the recommended process for September starts, assessment and admission at other times within the academic year is of course possible.

We ask for a Registration Fee upon application, and an Admission Deposit upon acceptance of a place.

The Admission Deposit is returned at the end of the pupil’s final term at Derby Grammar School.

Registration fees and admission deposits for September 2018 entry are:

Registration Fee – Junior & Senior £70
Registration Fee – 6th Form £50
